Elizabeth Anderson has over twenty-five years experience in a broad range of managerial and administrative positions in the performing arts. Her work has included international conference production, general management, financial management, artist representation, domestic and international tour booking and management, fundraising, project development, and marketing. She has excellent communication skills, and creates harmonious working relationships both with the people she works for, and with the people she manages. Her greatest strength lies in her ability to keep an eye on the big picture, while at the same time attending to the smallest details.
In 2001, Elizabeth set up the UK branch of Polestar Pilates Education a company she had come to know through her involvement with dance medicine. Polestar is one of the worlds leading Pilates teacher-training companies, based in Miami, Florida, with branches in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand and Spain. Elizabeth was granted a license to promote Polestars curriculum in the UK and Ireland, and her company Polestar Pilates UK Ltd. began trading in 2002. Since that time her company has offered training programmes in Pilates Rehabilitation, Mat and Studio exercise and to date has trained approximately 200 practitioners. Polestar UK has garnered an excellent reputation as a UK Pilates training provider, despite entering the market late and competing with established companies. Elizabeth has taken a leading role in galvanising the UK Pilates industry to come together to set up National Occupational Standards for Pilates a challenging undertaking in a highly factionalised and political industry. www.polestarpilates.co.uk (UK company); www.polestarpilates.com (US parent company)
